What a Great Hump Day!

Not only did I just get back from a great vacation (we'll just forget about that the little detail about missing the last flight home in Atlanta) but when I got back to work I found out I got to have a half day!!! So as soon as I got home I ripped off my regular work duds and changed into something more fun. I've been dying to wear these knee high boots since I bought them last spring, and it was finally cool enough to wear them! I guess I brought back some cool weather from Chicago.

Home At Last

The past week has been interrupted from blogging, due to an incredibly slow internet connection at the hotel. I couldn't even view my favorite blogs! It was very sad, to say the least.

The trip was to Chicago and it was a blast! My husband and I took the trip to see some of the best bands play at Riot Fest (such as NOFX, the Dead Milkman, Screeching Weasel and Cock Sparrer) but it wouldn't have been complete without a few trips to the thrift stores in the area. Although the Salvation Army was much to be desired, we found a few thrift stores known as Unique to be chalk full of clothing. I have too much stuff to take pictures right now, so these new items will be circulating the wardrobe throughout the next weeks. Our friend Ashely accompanied me in my excitement for thrifting while in Chicago and it couldn't have been better for her. She ran out of those stores like a bandit.

Loving the Layering

I've been inspired lately to try layering my dresses with tops to give my wardrobe more function in my day to day wears. It was pretty warm today so I decided to break out this sun dress one last time before I store away for the fall. I am really looking forward to the cooler weather I'll be experiencing in Chicago and will totally enjoy layering some more. I'm still undecided on what to wear for the trip, but I'm leaving on Thursday so I better get crackin'.

Just Thrifting!

As promised here is a little collection of my thrift finds from earlier. It was a fabulous experience rushing through the store during my 30 minute lunch. What a great way to relax during the work day. If only I had an hour to wander around this store. There was much more to see, but unfortunately I was concentrating just on the jewelry and the clothes.

Somebody has a Case of the Mondays

Ahhh, nothing like a Monday!! Usually they aren't so bad for me. I enjoy the people I work with, the customers I work with and of course Mondays are always one of busiest days of the week for a bank teller. I also made sure to take some time out of my busy day to check out the newest thriftstore in my area. It was a fruitful event and I'll post pictures of those finds tomorrow.

The outfit is just a tad simple, but it worked for what I had to do today. I needed to look a little more professional.

An Eventful Weekend

What a weekend! It's was mostly spent running around doing errands and such. I had to go to DSW twice this weekend, because silly me, I thought Converse low-tops only came in men's sizes, so in a rush I grabbed the size 5 (woman's 7) paid and ran out the door. As soon as I got home I put them on only to realize they are really small!!! Then I proceeded to take a closer look at the tag, and lo and behold they now label them for women sizes. The last pair I bought was 8 years ago, and they finally bit the dust, so it was time for a different pair. All I have to say is a big "I'm sorry" to my husband for dragging him around all weekend. I'm sure I'm forgiven though.

A Fun Look

This was a fun look for work today! It's hard to see, but the blouse was covered in ruffles, so it added plenty of visual interest and texture to the look, and the addition of the dark blue and green just seemed to make it more fun. Another interesting fact is I went ahead and painted my fingernails green to match the skirt during work yesterday. It was a little goofy, but that's just the way I like it.
