Watch the Birdie

day7d

So here is some more mommy love!   I finally got my mom to do a little outfit shoot with me on Saturday night and I'm happy to post them.  We were on our way to Bye Bye Birdie and decided to pose for a few mommy daughter pics since we were already dressed up for our evening.  Okay, my mom was a little more dressed up than I was, but I was too lazy to change from my earlier thrifting outfit:)  And Bye Bye Birdie was a great show!!  The cast had amazing voices and it was pretty funny.  I had no idea it was based on Elvis Presley either!  The movie is pretty different than the play (right down to the music) but if you know the song, Put on a Happy Face, than you have a connection to Bye Bye Birdie.

This has to be my favorite picture!!  We were just acting a little goofy and I wanted to make an awkward photo of us just smiling at each other like we did when I was 3 years old.  Fun times!!

Mommy Dearest

mom
(mom at her cousin's wedding 1970s)

My mother would get a laugh over the title of this post.  She loves that movie as much as I do.  I remember when I was younger she would proclaim, "No More Wire Hangers!!!" and of course I never got the joke until her and I sat down to watch Mommy Dearest when I was in high school.  Boy, could you imagine having Joan Crawford as your mother?  Lets all pause and consider how lucky we have it;)

In celebration of my mom I decided to show you all my favorite pics of her that my Grandma snuck to me four years ago.  My mom had no clue I had all these photos of her and I am glad I was able to share them with her today and even look at old photos of my Grandma.  My Grandma would write witty funny things on the back of photos and we had a nice laugh over her humor.  Sadly my Grandma (my mom's mom) passed away 4 years ago so it was nice to think of her too on this day.
