Thank you so much for all your kind words of encouragement and good luck!!  It really made me feel loved:)  That's why I love you guys so much!  Really, you guys are the best readers and I'm lucky to be part of such a great community of bloggers:)  I find out about the job on Friday and I'm still crossing my fingers.

As for my outfit, I was feeling a little down and out yesterday for no apparent reason.  Maybe it's because of the cloudy dreary weather we've had for 4 days straight now and the stress of not knowing whats to come in the next few days.  Anywho, I was rifiling my closet and discovered my little gem of a blouse that I had forgotten all about!!  Its a vintage bow blouse from the 1970s and it is probably the cutest thing ever!! Polka dots, bows, and the vintage silouhette made me feel much better.  Especially when the whole outfit came together in a matter of 2 minutes!  

Starla is just loving the limelight these days!!  She heard all your sweet comments about her and I think she wants to be in every blog post now!! Hehehe

Crossing My Fingers & Toes

 

Today was quite an important day!  You see, I have been working for the same bank for nearly four years and I have been ready to take on some more responsibility with my work load for some time now.  So today I had my interview for the new position and now all I can do is cross my fingers.  This position will still be at the branch I work at now...which is a plus since I love that place...and this new position will be on the cusp of a lot of change within our branch.  It will be an interesting endeavor, to say the least!

Ok, so now that explains my outfit.  Since it was a job interview and I don't actually own a suit I did the next best thing.  I put on this little vintage dress and jacket combo.  I found this coral gem at a local Goodwill and I can't tell you how happy I was to see that it fit!!  Typically anything from the 1950s doesn't actually fit my waist, and this miraculously fit!  And I'm not even wearing a girdle!!  haha!! 

And I threw on the turquoise necklace for a pop of color.  I was told it appeared to be glowing by the coral of the dress, so I figured it was a good fit.

Can you tell I was going for a seventies vibe here?  I totally was!!  And ironically enough there wasn't but an ounce of vintage in my outfit!!  I was super excited when I unearthed my white paper denim cloth jeans from my spring/summer wardrobe!  I found these babies new with tags at a thrift store last year!!  I think the thrift gods were smiling at me that day.  If there is one thing I love, it's good quality denim.

And now for what I did in this outfit!! Basically my day was spent doing piles of laundry while watching episodes of The Dick Van Dyke show between loads.  It was a pretty quiet day, but I now have a favorite tv show to become obsessed with.  The comedy is golden I tell you!!  I love Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore.

Oh and I'm trying something new for my blog!!  As you can see I've amped up the size of the pictures!!  I feel like it gives the blog more cohesiveness with the layout.  It's a small detail but I think it makes a difference.  And I am going to periodically start including some of my more goofier photos.  Like the ones where I think I'm looking ultra cute but they end up looking like Emily the Weirdo! haha!!

Happy Sunday Lovely People!!!  I am in such a chipper mood today.  I think it's because I did a lot of shopping yesterday for fun with Zach and I haven't done that in months.  At the beginning of the year I took a Second Hand Challenge and let me tell you it's been a little...well...challenging.  So to make a long story short I received some TJ Maxx gift cards and decided to treat myself to some things that I've wanted but haven't found while thrifting.

It was an interesting realization.  I didn't want to buy just crap for the sake of buying crap.  I looked for some really nice quality things that I knew would be timeless and not throw-away fashion.  This new perspective on being more eco-logical with my shopping habits has totally changed my ways.

Oh and my dress is something I've been saving for the perfect weather!  My mom got it for me from Urban Outfitters for my birthday back in January.  Do you know how hard it is to keep a dress like this and not wear it for 5 months!! Ugh, it was torture!!  So I wore it to TJ Maxx, Target, the Lafayette Dog Park, and then this fancy schmancy restaurant called Pasha.  So it's a very versatile piece:)

Give Me A Break ,Why Don't Ya!

Long time no post right? hahaha!!! It was a nice little break while it lasted I guess. It's so lonely when I can't read my other friend's posts though.  I look forward to a nice hour to myself everyday just reading and collecting inspiration for outfits.  Tonight will need to be double time since everyone is probably blogging today!!

And I decided to post an outfit that I wore on Monday.  I was trying to go for a summery look since it was so hot that day.  This is the first time I've worn sandals this year!!!  I got them from Lulus.com when I was doing my coupon code a few weeks ago.  I have to say that I really love them!!  I can't wait to wear them more often!  Maybe next time I'll even spring for a pedicure or something too, since it's nearly summer time.

And I hope you don't mind the cute picture of my little Starla.  She was dying to be in front of the camera!

Getting Groovy

When you want to look groovy what better way to do so, than by wearing a paisley polyester print blouse!  Haha!!  Yeah.  I love looking like Jan Brady from the Brady Bunch!!  So Stylish!!  Ok.  I guess I'm being facetious:)  But I do find 70s paisley to be quite pleasant to my eye.  

To go along with the rest of the 70s inspired look I chose my espadrilles and then painted my nails a bright orange!  What's more 70s than a horrid shade of vibrant orange?!!  Although I probably wouldn't wear this color on my clothes, I would wear this color in little spurts.

They Go Together Like a Horse and Carriage

So in honour of our wedded bliss for four long years I decided to dedicate one post a week to Zach and I in order to celebrate our anniversary month.  I figured I'd give you guys a glimpse into my day to day life with the dude and give you some insight into our married life.  I usually get photos of our little date nights, but mixing them with outfit posts seems weird so I decided to give these photos a place of their own.  I hope you all don't mind:)

Usually on Sunday mornings Zach and I will walk to our fave little coffee shop, FairGrounds for some much needed caffeine and pastry.  I usually will get some sort of sugary concoction while Zach goes for a much less flavorful unsweetened black iced tea.  We complete each other like that;)

PS  I promise this won't be like fairy tale lovey dovey crap.  We've been together for about 8 years and we definitley have had our fisticuffs...oh well not really, but you know what I mean?  We get on each other's nerves!!  Haha!!  Like right now he's going on and on about cleaning up my messes, while I'm typing away....yeah we get on each other's nerves.
