Feathered Frock

feathers

If there is one thing I love, it is thrifting. That is no secret if you've read my blog. Today I decided to spend my half day with my friend Diane and we spent it doing what we do best. Thrift. We always find the most amazing things together and we do a great job at being adventurous in the dressing room. Usually we have fun putting on the most ridiculous outfits you can imagine and then go prancing around the store talking about how great we look. You won't believe the kind of looks we get from the store clerks...ok, maybe you do believe the kind of looks they give us. But it's all in fun.

Since it was surprisingly blustery today I had to find something that wouldn't fly up as I walked. I started the morning to work in a pretty h&m dress, a cropped cashmere coat, tights and a hat and then discovered that this was not the outfit to wear out on windy days. I walked hunched over the entire time to and from work praying that I could save face and not expose my underwear to the world. So, as soon as I got home I changed into this, so I'd be a little more appropriate for walking about.

This feather shirt is another vintage find that I've forgotten about since I bought it back in February. I found this gem at Buffalo Exchange and the girls at the checkout were swooning over it. I absolutely love this print and knew just how I'd wear it for something casual. I found this vintage sweater on Sunday while thrifting with my sister and it was just too awesome not to pass up. It has little specks of colored thread, a nubby texture and it fits great. And of course my go-to boots for the month completed my look.
