Getting Dressy

Today I had a little more time to get myself together for work. I wanted to go for a monochromatic look but with a muted pop of color. My green satin and lace skirt was perfect for this look. I guess I looked a lot more dressy today, since a customer commented on how I looked and asked if I was going to the ball. I said, "nope, just here at work and then off to take my final". Sometimes I feel out of my element when people start commenting on why I get so dressed up. Since I work at a bank, why don't I shop at The Limited and New York and Company like everyone else? People ask me that all the time. Or they ask, "why don't you wear pants?" They assume that I'm part of a religious cult or something, but pants are just uncomfortable to me. I'm starting to get tired of the repeated questions, but as long as I feel good and look good, I'll keep dressing up for the heck of it.

  1. I just don't get why people say that to you - you look adorable and what's wrong with dressing to make yourself happy even if it is to work. I don't think the outfit is too dressy, I would wear it to work too. I LOVE the color and texture of your skirt - so adorable. Good luck on your move :)

  4. Great outfit! The skirt is so cute! And I love where you took your outfit pictures. The setting compliments the outfit nicely with the dark hardwood floors and white doors. And who cares what people say. At the end of the day, the only person we should be dressing for is ourself. Wear what makes you happy and feel good!
